E.'s homework this weekend involved coloring some pictures of jack-o'-lanterns. When Dete saw, she mentioned that in the interior, where she's from, people carve faces in papayas and put candles inside to scare people.
That gave E. an idea for a new project.

Ju was glad to do his part, too.
Most of the fruit that we scooped out ended up smeared all over his body.

Your blog TGP reminds me of the many family photo books that my Mom has at home.
The only difference is you have text added to the pics, in digital form and you are wise enough not to show the naked baby pics! Because as they grow up the boys will surely ask you, why!
My Mom, on the other hand had nooo problem with 'posting' (showing) those naked photos of her kids in her family photo books!
I have always been fascinated to learn about the similarities of customs and holidays the US and Brazil share.
Thanks, Jazztech. I do hope this blog will be, among other things, a good record of our time here in Brazil.
And you thought papaya is only for eating! You had no Idea how great it is as raw material for sculpture and what a fantastic skin creme it makes!
