It's been awhile since I posted last, and I realize that I sort of left you with a cliffhanger. Well, I'm still hanging off that particular cliff, and the more I think about it, the less certain I am of what I want to do.
Pro: a more relaxed schedule with my kids to explore all different kinds of things we wouldn't get to otherwise.
Con: Less time for myself, my writing, and my (still largely theoretical) career.
Pro: Possible fodder for writing.
Con: See above.
Pro: More time with my kids.
Con: More time with my kids.
Pro: Less overscheduling, academic pressure, peer pressure. More time for creative play, music, reading, exploring outdoors.
Con: Will they become self-centered sociopaths? Maybe boredom and having to follow arbitrary rules is good for them.
(Maybe I should start making more arbitrary rules?)
And so on, around and around.
In the meantime, I take a break from angst-filled deliberation to take Ju to storytime.
And Superclown and I work out our frustrations on some pizza dough.
Stay tuned.

I've been wondering if you made a decision. Good luck. I can't wait to hear more. (Superclown! Awesome.) That Ju has a sweet smile.
homeschooling is a FULL time job...if I cant find school placement for my son when we go back, I might have to homeschool him (but really trying to avoid that route). I think following rules and routines at school are important at that age, I can totally see my son trying to win one over on me if he were to stay at home. Are the kids happy with the school they go to?
